Also, be advised that housekeeping is only offered on request, so if you don’t ask, you don’t get! We weren’t told that at checkin so I was glad I asked on the second morning of our stay. There was no turkey or chicken sausage or bacon, no boiled eggs, no grits (which is a standard at most Southern properties), no biscuits or fresh fruit. There were powdered eggs (which I hate), waffle maker, oatmeal, pork sausage, yogurt and cereal. The only things I didn’t like was that they only have cable TV (no local channels) and the breakfast buffet, which had no variety. The beds were comfy, room and common areas were clean and I liked the muted gray decor throughout the hotel. Caroline checked us in to the hotel and she was a great welcome hostess. There’s also a small shopping center with a Mexican restaurant within walking distance. It’s in an area of Camden being newly developed with a new Holiday Inn Express right across the street and a Springhill Suites by Marriott being built next door, so there will be lots of new hotel options to choose from. ![]() This is your standard cookie cutter Hampton Inn with most of the amenities you normally expect and very convenient to I-20.
